WOODHOUSE PIPES Handcrafted

Woodhouse Pipes is a project created by a husband and wife’s combined passion and enthusiasm for pipe smoking. Let me explain how the idea of pipe making actually arose: In 2014 I went to a pipe meeting in London, where I met my wife to be. I come from Slovakia and she is from Transylvania, but we have lived in England for a long time. As pipe lovers, we eventually began to think about how nice it would be to be able to make a quality smoking pipe, according to our own ideas.

In our free time we started gathering information (loads of it!) about the process and the tools needed for the manufacturing of a pipe, and slowly bought the basic equipment we needed. We also needed a place where we could start creating, so we built a practical little workshop out of wood in our backyard, hence the name: ‘Woodhouse Pipes‘. After some time of learning, experimentation and practising we made some pipes for our acquaintances from local clubs and we got the best feedback... and that’s how our little family business started.

What distinguishes us from the rich competition? The fact that the both of us participate in the production of each pipe, both having different tasks. Each pipe passes a double check. It must be said that we are both perfectionists, with an eye for detail, and that reflects in the final product. Every pipe must meet strict criteria, not only aesthetically, but also mechanically. They are handmade, only from premium materials, top range briar exclusively from Italy, where we have our esteemed suppliers, and the highest quality ebonite from Germany (SEM) or Japan. This allows us to satisfy even our most demanding customers. What else could you wish for than make a living from your hobby?! There is nothing better than a satisfied customer.
